/ɛ/ 像 get, pen, men，短、松、不滑动；
/eɪ/ 像 take, pain, main，是双元音，有从 /e/ 滑向 /ɪ/ 的过程。
不要把 pen 和 pain、men 和 main 读成一样。
中文母语者很容易把 /eɪ/ 的滑动读没，导致 pain 听起来像 pen。
/ɛ/ = 短 e，不滑动。
/eɪ/ = “e → ɪ” 的滑动音。
重点对比：pen / pain，sell / sail，test / taste，men / main。

每读一组，都要检查自己有没有把 /eɪ/ 的尾巴读出来。
这一组练习的目标不是背词组，而是训练嘴巴在 /ɛ/ 和 /eɪ/ 之间切换。
/eɪ/ 要滑，/ɛ/ 不要滑。

/æ/ 是 fat, man, bad 里的音。
这个音中文里没有完全对应的音。它不是普通的“啊”，也不是 /ɛ/。
它的关键是：嘴巴要明显张开，舌头低而平，位置偏前。
/ɛ/ 像 get，嘴巴只是中等打开。
/æ/ 像 fat，嘴巴要更打开，舌头更低。
所以 men 和 man，pen 和 pan 不能读成一样。
不要把 fat 读成接近 fet。
如果嘴巴没有打开，/æ/ 很容易变成 /ɛ/。
练习时可以夸张一点张口，先把口腔动作做对，再慢慢自然化。
Common Spelling Patterns for /æ/

不过注意，字母 a 不总是读 /æ/，后面还会遇到其他读法。
